on the orders and instructions of his official Superior Sir John Davis; and, as he does not appear to have exceeded the orders

him, I bring the question to your Lordship's notice, and respectfully solicit that I may be permitted to reimburse Mr. Hillier the amount of expenses to which he has necessarily been put in defending this prosecution, amounting to $296.40
